Have you ever seen a brilliant moment on a Google Meet session and wanted to watch it again? Hooray! Google Meet has a feature that allows users to record meetings. Recording your Google Meet meeting can help you review it later or share it with a team member who couldn't make it live. However, where do the Google Meet recordings go?

This guide will help you explore various locations where your Google Meet recordings can be saved and downloaded so you can watch them later.

Where is a Google Meet Recording Saved?

Learn who can record the meeting before discovering where Google Meet recordings are saved. A meeting host can record and share the meeting. It is only possible to record the meeting under certain conditions:

  • If you're the designated host of the meeting.
  • If you're an external participant, upgraded to co-host level by the host.
  • If you're a teacher or co-teacher, things are taken through Google Classroom.
  • If you belong to the same organization and the Host Management option is disabled.
  • The recording option is only available for desktops and not a mobile app.
  • The recording feature is only available as a part of a paid subscription.

Where Are Google Meet Recordings Saved?

A Google Meet recording will always be saved in the Google Drive of the meeting's organizer, and the meeting organizer and initiator can access and download the recorded meeting. You can see the recorded meetings in the "Meet Recordings" folder if you're the organizer.

If you schedule the meeting through the Google Calendar app, the app can directly add the recording link to the event details. All the participants can easily access the recorded session through the Google Calendar app.

Note that Google Meet recordings take some time to generate; hence, they can't be accessed immediately after the meeting.
